Applicants can be considered for appointment for up to two years following the date of their application. Typically, it takes at least two months to determine an applicant’s eligibility for appointment. Advisory committees prepare shorts lists of the best qualified applicants for each position, and Ministers select appointees from amongst those lists. The screening is based on an objective assessment of each applicant’s skills and qualifications and the current needs of the agency, board or commission.
